SOUTHAVEN, MS -- The Mississippi Department of Transportation hopes to put an end to the traffic tie-ups and constant congestion on Goodman Road.

Engineers have come up with a game plan to improve traffic flow. They'll be changing some lights and lanes this month.

The intersection at Goodman and Airways will be altered. They're getting rid of one of Airways two left turn lanes, hoping that will help move traffic along.

"It's too busy for me," says driver Miss Allen. "The only time I come this way is if someone else is driving."

"It's very hectic," adds Katina Morrow. "Changing the roads won't necessarily change the drivers. If people still disregard lights and signs you're still going to have a lot of stop and go traffic."

Work on the Airways lane will happen on Sunday, April 21st. MDOT plans to monitor the changes to see how they work.
