MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - When a Memphis man offered his friend a ride home, he wasn't planning on being robbed and kidnapped at gunpoint.
According to the police affidavit, the man told police he was driving in the area of Macon and Greenbrook on January 10, 2012 when he saw his friend, 18-year-old Robert Boddie, and another man walking down the street. He offered to give them a ride home to the Greenbrook Apartment Complex, and after the two got in his car Boddie pulled out a gun and held it to the victim's head from the backseat.
The suspect with Boddie went through the victim's pockets and took his MP3 player, credit cards, cash and cell phone. They pushed the victim into the passenger seat and the other suspect drove them to an ATM where the victim was forced to withdraw more cash. The suspects also used the victim's credit card to make purchases at a Wal-Mart and a gas station.
Robert Boddie was arrested on Feb. 6 and charged with Aggravated Kidnapping and Aggravated Robbery. He is being held at the Shelby County Jail on $500,000 bond.
