MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A Memphis man is behind bars for forcibly touching a teenage girl walking in Frayser earlier this month.
The incident occurred around 3 p.m. on Friday, September 7 in the area of Thomas Street and Frayser Boulevard. According to the police affidavit, a 16-year-old girl was walking down the street when a man unknown to the girl pulled over, got out of his vehicle and started talking to her. When the girl refused to talk to the man, he grabbed her and forcibly rubbed on her private parts. The suspect then got back in his vehicle and drove away.
The suspect's white Mercury Marquis was later seen in the area and the license plate number was reported to police. Investigators located 25-year-old Robert Vail and arrested him on September 17.
Robert Vail is charged with Sexual Battery. He was booked at the Shelby County Jail on $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court September 25.
