Man Charged with Stabbing Death of Own Grandmother

Police arrested a man accused of choking and fatally stabbing his own grandmother in her north Memphis home.
MEMPHIS, TN (localmemphis.com) - Police arrested a man accused of choking and fatally stabbing his own grandmother in her north Memphis home.

Officers were called to a home in the 1100-block of West Lexington Circle around 5:20 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11.

Once inside, they found 74-year-old Bobbie Edinbourgh lying on the floor with a stab wound. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

Investigators say the victim's son found her when he came by to check on her.

Police later arrested the victim's grandson, 24-year-old Sol Holland. According to the police affidavit, Holland admitted to choking and stabbing Edinbourgh.

Sol Holland is charged with First Degree Murder. He was booked at the Shelby County Jail on Thursday, June 20, and is being held without bond.
