Man Indicted on Civil Rights Charges for Vandalizing Torah

A federal grand jury has indicted a Jackson, Tennessee man with violating the civil rights of students and faculty at a Memphis Hebrew school.
MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A federal grand jury has indicted a Jackson, Tennessee man with violating the civil rights of students and faculty at a Memphis Hebrew school.

Justin Baker, 25, as arrested for felony vandalism in January while he was working as a security guard at the Doubletree Hotel in Jackson.

Investigators say Baker defaced several religious items belonging to Margolin Hebrew School, including a Torah scroll, which were at the hotel for a worship service.

On Wednesday, May 15, a federal grand jury in Memphis returned a one count indictment against Baker.
