Hundreds Attend Visitation for MPD Officer Martoiya Lang

MEMPHIS, TN- Hundreds of family, friends and fellow officers paid their respects to a fallen Memphis police officer Thursday.

Visitation for Officer Martoiya Lang was held at MJ Edwards Funeral home Thursday afternoon and at Hope Presbyterian Church early in the evening.

Officer Lang, a member of MPD's Organized Crime Unit, was shot and killed while serving a drug warrant at a home on Mendenhall Cove December 15th.

Rev. Althea Green, a family friend who taught one of Lang's four daughters at Snowden School, told abc24.com she remembers a woman who was a "Super Mom."

"Officer Lang was always at the PTA meetings, supporting her four girls, and very involved in their lives." 

Funeral services for Officer Lang will be held tomorrow (Friday) at Hope Presbyterian Church at 11:00 a.m. A procession will follow to the Memorial Park Southwoods Cemetery on Hacks Cross Rd.

The only good cop is a dead cop. If she minded her own business, instead of being a willing participant in this unwinnable war on drugs - she would still be alive.
