Memphians React to New Study About a Woman's G-Spot

It's one of the most talked about research: finding the key to a woman's best orgasm, the "G-spot."
MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - It's one of the most talked about research: finding the key to a woman's best orgasm, the "G-spot." The problem is many women say they can't find it or don't have one. A new study suggests otherwise. Many of us don't learn about the G-spot in health class, so you can see why many women and men have problems finding it.

The study revealed that all women have a G-spot in the same area, they just have to do a little exploring. The study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine claims to find, for the first time, exactly where this mysterious G-spot is located: it's the sixth and final layer of a sac in the front vaginal wall. The gynecologist discovered it by using an 83-year-old female cadaver.

"I learned something new. I didn't know there were 6 layers. Thank the scientists for that,” said Memphian Brendan Mandurs.

“After a while it's kind like a technique for a guy to use. I really wasn't good at it at first but after a while it's the same thing for every girl pretty much,” said another Memphian, Chris Becht.

Women we spoke with had a better grasp of locating their G-spot.

A doctor on the ABC show “The View” explains.

"It's a spot that's in the top part of the vagina about 2 centimeters in. The problem in the past is if you have an increase sensitivity people thought there's going to be increased amount of nerves so we've had scientists for all this time looking for this increased bundle of nerves and they haven't been able to find it,” said Dr. Andrew Goldstein.

Once they find it, the experience is orgasmic.

"When you press up on the top part of the vagina, you're pressing on these 2 structures: the prostate gland for women and the legs of the clitoris,” said Dr. Goldstein.

The end result, doctors say, is a woman's best orgasm, ever. Just ask Melanie Leon. She works for Passion Parties, a company that sells sensual products to reach the big "o."

“A lot of women at my parties can testify that there is a G-spot. It is there and if you just take the time to explore that area and find it you'll be a very happy, happy woman,” she said.

In case you're wondering, the G-spot is named after German gynecologist Ernst Grafenberg, who first discovered it. The G-spot has been studied since the 1940's.
