Memphis Cat Rescue 'Mewtopia' Seeks Help with Relocation

More than 100 cats will be without a home, at least temporarily, as Memphis cat rescue group scrambles to move to a new facility.
MEMPHIS, TN (localmemphis.com) - More than 100 cats will be without a home, at least temporarily, as Memphis cat rescue group scrambles to move to a new facility.

Mewtopia Cat Rescue’s landlord will not renew the group’s lease that ended this month. The organization has been in their East Memphis building for 12 years; now it has to vacate by the end of July, and their new facility won't be ready.

The cat rescue's director, Ann Illsley, said it’s not easy to find a place that quickly, let alone move 115 cats and kittens. Now the group is pleading for the public’s help to foster the cats until they move or find the animals a forever home.

Mewtopia is also looking for volunteers to help the group move into their new building and donations to cover moving costs. If you would like more information about how you can help, go to mewtopia.org.
