Memphis Centenarian Celebrates 36 Years of Hospital Service

Methodist South celebrated a remarkable woman's 100th birthday Tuesday, and honored her 36 years as a hospital volunteer.
MEMPHIS, TN (localmemphis.com) - A Memphis woman is celebrating two milestones.

Tuesday is Ms. Sarah Freeman's 100th birthday. Methodist South held a celebration for Ms. Freeman that morning.

They're also honoring her 36 years of service as a "Pink Lady" at the hospital.

Ms. Freeman credits her longevity to the man upstairs.

"It's the Lord's blessing that he continues to give me strength and health and hopefully a clear mind," she said. "I'm very humbled and grateful - just so happy, and thankful."

"Pink Ladies" are volunteers who assist with patient transportation, greeting visitors and running errands.

Ms. Freeman shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon
