MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - While the move has not been made official, there is a deal in principle for the Memphis Grizzlies to trade Rudy Gay to the Toronto Raptors for forward Ed Davis and guard Jose Calderon, ESPN.com reports.

The hold up is that the Grizzlies are trying to include a third team to pick up Calderon while the Grizzlies are working to pick up another small forward for themselves in the process. Depending on how the deal plays out, Hamed Haddadi could also be a part of the trade with Toronto.

Rudy's name has been bantered about the trade rumor mill all month, but this comes as a bit of surprise because Grizzlies CEO Jason Levian had said he would try to keep the team's core together.

The Grizzlies are not commenting on the situation at the moment, but the trade could become official at some point Wednesday night.

I totally agree,,good luck to Gay,,he is better off being in Canada and away from this cess pool called memphis. Especially away from the violence and just the LOUSY way memphis has reversed instead of progressed as a city.

Say what you want about his skills, but even Rudy Gay deserves to live in a place safer than Memphis. Good luck to him and his family away from all the violence and flagarent racism here in Memphis.

Every time the grizzlies get a good team together they start to trading off players. Just like they did Mayo and now he is really shining. I thought they wanted to be contenders for the playoff? The team is doing fine and now here comes some more @###! I want to stay a loyal fan,but my patience is running short. IF IT AINT BROKE DONT FIX IT!!!!!
