Memphis Man Robbed at Gunpoint after Answering Craigslist Ad

Three teens are in police custody for posting a fake sale listing on Craigslist and robbing the person who showed up to buy the items.
MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Three teens are in police custody for posting a fake sale listing on Craigslist and robbing the person who showed up to buy the items.

"I said, 'Hey do you have some phones?' And they pointed the guns at me," the man, who didn't want to be identified, told abc24.com.

Investigators say the victim answered an ad on Craigslist for two iPhones and pair of Beats by Dre headphones.

The man arranged to meet the seller in the Colonial Acres neighborhood near Sea Isle Rd and Tahiti Ln on Friday, May 24.

"The guy said his car didn't work so I had to meet him at the house," said the man.

When he arrived at the agreed location, two armed suspects came up on both sides of his car and robbed him. The suspects stole the victim's cash, credit cards and iPhone.

"They told me to get out of the car and lay on the ground, and they went through my pockets," he said. "I just said a little prayer in my head, please don't, please Lord protect me right now."

Memphis police tracked down the suspects responsible and took three teens into custody Monday afternoon.

Malik Adams and Danny Williams, both 15, and 14-year-old Christian Boyd were all arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery.
