MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A Memphis city school teacher has been named Tennessee's Teacher of the Year.

Allyson Chick was honored Tuesday night in Nashville. Chick is a 3rd grade teacher at Richland Elementary School.

She is the first teacher of the year from the Memphis City Schools district in three decades.
