MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A teacher at East High School in Memphis received a $25,000 award in a surprise ceremony at the school on December 1, 2011.

English teacher Meah King received a Milken Family Foundation Award, presented by Education Commissioner Kevin Huffman. The honor is given to outstanding educators each year to teachers across the country.

King has been teaching for nine years, and serves as a mentor to many new teachers and underprivileged students at East High.

“The personal relationships she forges, allow both adults and students to not only discover their hidden talents, but grow into and accept their responsibilities,” King’s principal, Eric Harris, stated in a news release.

Over 2,500 educators have received the Milken National Educator Award.

Thats is not nice. It's a little funny, but really not nice to say. From the way this teacher looks I can guess that her responce would be something like.." B#$IH you don't know me like that to play that card". I just guessing now.
