WALTHALL, Miss. (AP, abc24.com) - Authorities have found the body of a 2-year-old boy who wandered away from family Sunday afternoon in Webster County.
Webster County EMA Director Jimmy McLemore says Kye Mitchell drowned in a pond. McLemore says searchers had drained a different pond Sunday and were preparing to drain the other, when the boy was found.
Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Jon Kalahar says the boy's body had been found near the home.
He says an autopsy would be performed.
