MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A Munford High School graduate is fighting for his life after he was injured by an IED in Afghanistan on December 13, 2011.
26-year old LCPL Christian Brown with the U.S. Marine Corp, who is serving his second tour of duty, is the stepson of Shelby County Sheriff's Deputy Beth Braden. He lost both of his legs, a finger, and sustained critical injuries to his torso when the IED detonated.
"War is real and does not discriminate as to whom its victims are," stated SCSO Spokesperson Chip Washington. "Right now, the family is asking for your prayers as they await further word on his condition."
Brown is scheduled to be flown to Germany and then to Maryland pending developments on his condition.
