MUNFORD, TN (abc24.com) - The body of an English teacher at Munford High School was found on the neighboring elementary school's campus Sunday afternoon.

Munford police were contacted by the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Office on November 25 about a missing person, 61-year-old Peggy Green. They were told she might be at Munford Elementary School feeding stray cats, which she had done for several years.

Police went to the school and found Green on the sidewalk; she was pronounced dead on the scene.

Investigators are awaiting autopsy results for an official cause of death, but foul play is not suspected.
