Murder Suspect Sought in Shooting of Innocent Bystander

Memphis Police are searching for the suspect who opened fire in a Frayser neighborhood, killing a woman as she unloaded groceries from her car.
MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Memphis Police are searching for the suspect who opened fire in a Frayser neighborhood, killing a woman as she unloaded groceries from her car.

The shooting occurred on the 2100-block of Burnham Cove around 9 a.m. on Friday, January 11. When police arrived on the scene, they found 62-year-old Diane Ward shot dead in her driveway.

Investigators say a group of people had gotten into an argument when shots were fired, and the woman was not the target of the shooting.

Police identified the suspect as 24-year-old Bryant Williamson and issued a warrant for his arrest. Williamson is facing charged of First Degree Murder, Employment of a Firearm and Attempted First Degree Murder.
