MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Police say the suspect who shot and killed a man in southwest Memphis was aiming at his ex-girlfriend.

Officers were called to a home on the 900-block of Fields Road just before 2 a.m. on Wednesday, October 31. When they arrived they found a 26-year-old man, later identified as Dominique Hornburger, shot dead in the driveway.

According to the police affidavit, Hornburger and a woman were sitting in his vehicle in the driveway when the woman's ex-boyfriend, 28-year-old Billy Aldridge, pulled up in a Chevy Tahoe and began shooting at them. The woman ran from the vehicle and Aldridge continued to fire at her, but struck Hornburger. Aldridge fled before officers arrived.

Billy Aldridge was tracked down and arrested after a brief chase. He is charged with First Degree Murder and Attempted First Degree Murder; he is being held without bond and is scheduled to appear in court November 9.
