National Bikers Roundup Revs Up In Tunica

The biggest annual camping and motorcycle rally in the country is revving up this weekend in Tunica.
MEMPHIS, TN (localmemphis.com) - Seeing a lot of bikers lately?

It's no coincidence.

The biggest annual camping and motorcycle rally in the country is revving up this weekend in Tunica.

As the National Bikers Roundup kicks off, over 20,000 bikers are expected to attend, meaning a kick start to tunica's economy.

“I’m sure that this is bringing a lot of money into the area so yeah i think it's going well.,” biker Reggie Jordan said.

Reggie Jordan cruised into the tunica battle arena knowing what to expect. As a veteran of the 36th annual national bikers roundup, he says it's about helping the hosting community, as well as rekindling friendships.

“I love the bike gathering, the whole family atmosphere and everything. I love bikes. It's the time for a vacation, and it's a great way to meet new people and all that good stuff,” Jordan said.

This is the second time the roundup has been held in Mississippi. The event is expected to bring in over three million dollars to tunica.

“Every place it's been has always been invited back. It's a good revenue,” biker Sue Catchens said.

The bikers will spend the rally camping out at the arena as well as enjoying good food and fun. Whether it's because of the casinos or the southern hospitality, biker "Doggie Dog" says this roundup is the best yet.

“They need to have this all the time. They need to come back here every year. I know it's impossible, but I wish they would though. It's really enjoyable,” Doggie Dog said.

The National Bikers Roundup will continue all this weekend.
