New Cases Of West Nile In The Mid-South

New cases of the West Nile virus have been found in Shelby County and in Mississippi.
MEMPHIS, TN (localmemphis.com) - New cases of the West Nile virus have been found in Shelby County and in Mississippi.

The Shelby county health department confirms a 15-year-old boy, 46 year-old man, and a 46 year-old woman have all been treated for West Nile.

That brings the total number of cases this year in Tennessee to 12, with one death.

The Mississippi Department of Health said it has three new cases, bringing the state's total to 30, with one death.

Arkansas has had only four cases this year, with one death.

If you're going to be outside, be sure to use a repellent containing deet. Mosquitoes will be out until the first frost of the year.
