Nothing Shaking At “Showgirls” Strip Club

MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) If you're looking for a good time in the boom boom room, it won't be happening at "Showgirls."

The Memphis strip club has been declared a public nuisance. It came at the request of the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office.

The Lamar Avenue strip club has been known as a haven for drugs and prostitution. The club had already been shut down by a judge's order and now it must remain closed at least through November 25, 2011.

Good Job... thanks MPD... That chick named Memphis and Strawberry stole all my boys money when he had a party there six months ago. And the manager and bouncer stood by and did nothing but ask us to leave.... They got what was comming....... Thanks MPD.... and I dont' even like MPD...

In response to the previous post... Seriously? You think that shutting down a strip club is costing Memphians jobs. Memphis govt has plenty of reasons to be criticized, but causing the unemployment rate of pole dancers and bouncers to rise is not one of them.

a nuisance ? I think that neighborhood is all a nuisance closing down one mans strip club will not save a LamarAve..Congrats to local Mem Govt again for taking jobs away from the city,good bad or otherwise now you have a boarded up eye sore of a building and no workers working and now biz owners payingtaxes.......
