MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - The Memphis Police Department has released the disciplinary files of two officers relieved of duty last week.

Officers Parker Culver and Marc Henderson are accused of threatening to take over the weapons room at Ridgeway Station and shoot high-ranking city leaders. Investigators say the two were upset over proposed budget cuts.

Officer Marc Henderson's file was clean.

Officer Parker Culver had only one incident in April 2011. He was in uniform pumping gas in his personal car. He claimed he swiped his credit card, but still had to ask the clerk to turn on the pump. The clerk said Culver then took off without paying. Culver paid for the gas the next day and no disciplinary action was taken.

The police union claims the accusations are a vendetta against officers who complain about their salaries as negotiations intensify between the city and the union.

Memphis Police Association President Mike Williams says the whole thing is being blown out of proportion; they were just talking about pay. Both officers make less than $45,000 a year.

"I am not opposed to the investigation I just ask that it be fair,” said Williams.

Both officers remain relieved of duty with pay pending the outcome of the investigation.

First, I am a staunch defender of the guys in blue. Second,I believe in law and order. Third, if they did make the threats, fire their dumb asses. There are too many great officers in this city to be tarnished by these nuts. This isn't a joking matter. When you threaten life, it is time to pay the piper!
