MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A nurse accused of shooting and killing her husband two years ago claims it was self defense.
Pamela Taylor is currently on trial, facing a First Degree Murder charge for killing Mike Taylor.
The defense claims Mike Taylor was in a steroid rage when he was killed in December 2009, and his wife was acting in self defense.
A friend of the couple's daughter, J.T. Simmons, was the first on the stand. He was one of the first people in the apartment after police left, and he was questioned for several hours about Mike Taylor's behavior.
Counsel: Did you ever see Taylor throw things?
Simmons: I did not.
Counsel: Did you ever see Taylor throw things around the apartment?
Simmons: No.
The prosecution charges the apartment never looked like the scene of a fight, especially an attack by a man in a steroid rage. They contend Mike Taylor was killed because Pamela wanted $97,000 in life insurance money.
Pamela and Mike Taylor were high school sweethearts.
