MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - We've all heard the saying that cats have nine lives, and in the case of 'Piper' the kitten that may be true. After spending five days stuck in a pipe, the little kitten was saved and is now safe with her new adoptive parents.

"It's amazing, it's just crazy," said Piper's new owner Mike Wilson. "You get a 7-week-old cat who's now famous on TV, it's just been phenomenal."

It was just a few weeks ago poor Piper had been trapped in a pipe in the Berclair neighborhood for 5 days. It took 12 hours for a dedicated team of plumbers from Greenway Home Services to rescue the feisty feline.

After Piper was freed, Wilson, Vice President of Greenway, along with his wife decided to take her in.

"It went from being rescue the cat to rescue 'my' cat," he said.

So after her brush with death and a bit of local fame, Piper has settled right in to the comfortable life.
