Plea Deal Struck in U-Haul Animal Transport Case

A California woman, charged with 30 counts of animal cruelty in Fayette County for transporting dozens of dogs cross country in a U-Haul, struck a plea deal on the day her trial was to begin.

I agree, I think these women were probably trying to help. Although this should be a warning to other inexperienced "rescues", if you don't have the resources to transport animals DON'T attempt it!!

We do need stronger animal cruelty laws. It would be wonderful to see redneck animal killing scum have to do jail time. I don't believe these women fit that category. It seems, perhaps, that they didn't think it through before attempting to drive all that way with so many animals. Their heart may have been in the right place though.

This is total BS. $500 is hardley a slap on the wrist. TN needs stronger animal cruelty laws.
