Positive Results from Jackson's Domestic Violence Unit

Residents in Jackson, Tennessee are saying their police department's Domestic Violence Unit has been a resounding success. The unit, which was established in September 2009, is being applauded for its successful and vigorous approach in tackling the problem of domestic violence.

Ever thought that the reason the stats have decreased is because that the victims stopped reporting the domestic violence ? They don't want to see him/her go to jail since the enforcement and jail terms are being laid down ? I am all for the awareness and handing down the appropriate jail term, but some will not report it because of that. They can't, in this day and time, afford to lose the financial support the perpetrator may be responsible for. Just sayin

YAY for Sgt Deborah Stanfill. I am one of the investigators that works for Sgt. Stanfill and she is a JEWEL to work for and ALWAYS has time for any of us that might have questions. Making Domestic Violence Awareness available to everyone is the only way we are going to make the suspects understand they are not going to get by with what they do!!!!
