MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Shelby County Public Works trucks have already been out laying brine solution to roads and overpasses in anticipation of winter weather predicted to hit the area Thursday evening.

Colder temperatures and rain, as well as a possibility of snow, are in the forecast for the Mid-South; a Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the area until 7 a.m. Friday.

“We could have hazardous driving conditions tonight and early tomorrow. Motorists need to be on the alert,” said Bob Nations, Director of the Shelby County Office of Preparedness.

Salt and cinder trucks will be sent out to treat the roads if it snows.
