MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A Memphis man has been sentenced to 25 years behind bars without parole for raping a 6-year-old child.

43-year-old Frederick Herron received the maximum sentence for raping his wife's sister. The child victim was age six when Herron married her older sister, the victim’s legal guardian.

Shortly after moving in with the victim and her sister, Herron raped the child multiple times in their home between July 1, 2002 and July 5, 2006. The family reported the incidents to law enforcement in September 2010.

Herron, a U.S. Navy veteran, had been tried and convicted on previous child sex charges in Florida. He was found guilty at military court martial for sexual assault of his first wife’s pre-teen step-daughter and was sentenced to six years.

Herron was released from the Navy Brig in South Carolina in 2000. He received a bad conduct discharge and was registered as a child sex offender.

Herron was on the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry and when he committed the rape of the child in Tennessee.

I am the first child he molested, they have their facts wrong. He molested me from the time I was 3 until I was 8 and finally got the courage to say something. He was sentenced to 9 years and got out on good behavior after 6. This is absolutely atrocious! He was released in 2000 on good behavior and not even 2 years later he was raping a little girl. This rips my heart out. The PO sex offenders need to be put away for life and never allowed near children again! (My name is Kayla, I am posting from my husband's phone)

Seriously? WTF was this woman thinking when she married him?? Did she not make the connection that he can and will abuse little children who live with him? Stuff like this makes me ashamed to be human. Gay people can't get married, but this guy certainly can.

six years for the first one is a joke. the death penalty would be too good for this guy.

Seriously what kind of game do you have to have to be able to get married while bring a registered sex offender.
