Rep. Steve Cohen Not the Father of Texas Model

In a real life event that sounds like it came right from the Maury Povich Show, DNA tests show that Steve Cohen, you are not the father.
MEMPHIS, TN (localmemphis.com) - 9th District Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN) was the proudest dad alive when he announced to the world he had a daughter.

Her name is Victoria Brink, a model from Texas. Cohen said he had a brief romance with Brink's mother more than 20 years ago.

But now, in a real life event that sounds like it came right from the Maury Povich Show, DNA tests show that Steve Cohen, you are not the father of Victoria Brink.

Nobody knew about Victoria Brink here in Memphis until the President's State of the Union Address this year. Cohen was caught tweeting to Brink, and immediately people's thoughts went straight to the gutter.

Cohen finally told the world Victoria Brink was his daughter, but DNA tests conducted by a cable network now show that there's no chance she's Steve Cohen's daughter.

The people who live in Steve Cohen's congressional district weren't angry; if anything, they felt bad for him.

Randy Wade, the congressman's former assistant, says this was no joke, there's no fraud here. Steve Cohen thought he had a daughter.

"In my honest opinion, he truly believed he was the biological father. No ill will on his behalf, he actually thought Victoria was his daughter."

Victoria Brink's father is the man who raised her. As far as Congressman Cohen, he released a statement saying, in part, he was stunned and dismayed at the test results. "I still love Victoria, hold dear the time I have shared with her, and hope to continue to be a part of her life."

In his statement, the congressman says he's learned a lot about life, love and heartbreak. He's probably also learned there is no such thing as a personal life for a public servant.
