West Memphis, AR -- Darkness brought another nervous night in West Memphis for residents in an apartment complex that's recently experienced a rash of arson fires.
"I'm surrounded by fire," said Connie Hazley.
Two apartments above Hazley and the one besides have been set on fire, three of nine arson fires at the Westwood Apartment complex since mid-July. All the arson fires have targeted vacant apartments.
"I don't sleep as well as I used too because I don't know when I'm going to have to get up and try and get out," she said. "It's just scary, it's just nerve-wracking really."
Residents say they're fed up.
"When the people move from next door to me, I plan on moving because I'm scared they'll come and set that apartment on fire," said Vicki Key. "I have a six year old son, he don't need to be around it."
"I'll be glad when they catch whoever doing it," she added.
"We having a lot of fires around, but the thing is we can't pinpoint who's doing it, everyone's trying to catch them," said Jason Knighten who lives near one of the apartment units that was set on fire.
Investigators were at the scene on Friday evening, as was an investigator from the West Memphis Fire Department.
"We got little kids in the house, and something like that happen, we don't know if we are going to have to jump from the top floor or what," he added. "If we catch him, I'm going to hold them until the law get here."
