CLARKSDALE, MS (abc24.com) - It's been two weeks and still no leads or answers for a Clarksdale, Mississippi horse owner. Police are searching for the killer who shot three of her horses, leaving two dead and a third badly wounded.
Looking at him you'd never know Cotton was shot two weeks ago. Cotton's owner, Catherine Davis, says visiting her surviving horses helps deal with the loss.
"It's sort of therapeutic for me to come out here and see them," she says.
Davis says Cotton is recovering well since the shooting; his wound is almost healed, but he still has a ways to go.
"He's just tough. Just a big pet, like a big puppy."
Davis wants whoever shot Cotton and her other horses caught. She's put together a $3,000 reward, collecting money from 30 different donors, her friends, neighbors, and "people I don't even know," Davis says.
"I'm an Ole Miss graduate. I'm on the message board, over half came from them. I got on the message board, told them my story and the checks just poured in."
Her horses can't tell cops what happened, but Davis believes money talks.
"That's going to help… Somebody will say something sooner or later," she says. "My horses are dead, there's no going back. All I've got is time and I will wait."
