School Fight Leads To Lockdown And Game Cancellation

Officials say five teenagers have been arrested after a fight broke out among students at Southwind High School in Memphis Friday.
MEMPHIS, TN (localmemphis.com) - Five students were arrested and Southwind High was placed under lockdown Friday morning after a fight broke out at the school.  

According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s office, the fight could be related to a Thursday night shooting at a nearby park.

Spokesperson Chip Washington said five male students have been arrested for assault and disorderly conduct. Four are juveniles. 18-year old Michael Sample, III was also arrested and charged with Simple Assault and disorderly conduct.

Worried parents lined up outside the school to pick up the children early.

Shelby County Schools also cancelled the scheduled Southwind vs. Houston football game scheduled for Friday night. No reschedule date has been determined.
