Section Of Interstate 40 Closed Saturday For Bridge Work

Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) contract crews will close a small section of I-40 Westbound at Exit 42 in Fayette County on Saturday, September 7, 2013 from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in order to set new bridge beams.
MEMPHIS, TN (localmemphis.com) - Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) contract crews will close a small section of I-40 Westbound at Exit 42 in Fayette County on Saturday, September 7, 2013 from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in order to set new bridge beams.

During the closure, westbound traffic on I-40 will routed up the off-ramp at Exit 42 and back down the on-ramp to reenter I-40 West. The Tennessee Highway Patrol and TDOT HELP Trucks will be on site to assist with traffic.

The work is part of a $10 million project to construct a new interchange at I-40 and SR 222 in Fayette County.
