MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A sex strike in the bedroom? It soon could be a reality here in the Mid-South if one liberal leaning group has its way.
The Texas-based group Liberal Ladies Who Lunch is calling for a 7-day sex boycott. The group's motto, "If our reproductive choices are denied, so are yours."
"What the?" said Rick Timberlake. "Are you serious? I don't know about all that."
The group says it is trying to fight back against a push by Conservatives to limit federal government spending on women's health care issues and on things like birth control.
"A week is not that bad, it is not bad all to go a week without having sex." said Jasmine Skipper as she cradled a baby outside the Shelby County Criminal Justice Center.
The group says it hopes to start a chapter in Memphis before the strike, which is set for April 28th-May 5th.
