MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A.B. Hill Elementary School was evacuated Friday morning after a possible gas leak was reported.

According to an MCS spokesperson, a staff member smelled gas and the building was evacuated just before noon. The Memphis Fire Department, MCS maintenance and MLGW investigated and determined the cause to be a pilot light in the cafeteria.

MLGW addressed the problem and has since cleared the scene. Students and faculty were allowed back inside just after 12:30 p.m.
