SOUTHAVEN, MS (abc24.com) - Officers are touting the saturated patrols of the Southaven Police Department's 'Operation Christmas Present' as what led to the quick arrest of two purse-snatchers on December 2, 2011.

Witnesses tell abc24.com that a woman was walking towards a Hancock's Fabric store when one suspect jumped out of a vehicle parked near the entrance, knocked the woman down, stole her wallet and jumped back in the car.

A second suspect was driving the car, but the pair didn't get away without a witness taking down their license plate number.

The witness called police and reported the vehicle, which was quickly pulled over.

18-year-old Denzel Roberts was arrested and charged with Simple Robbery, and 21-year-old Shyterria Gaskew was charged as an accessory for driving the getaway car.
