MEMPHIS, TN (localmemphis.com) - Memphis police have arrested one of two suspects accused of robbing a woman in the parking garage at Oak Court Mall Monday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 2:45 p.m. on Monday, June 17. Investigators say a woman was standing by her vehicle parked in the garage, holding her infant son while talking to a friend, when a brown Jeep pulled up and the suspect got out of the passenger's side. He walked up and tried to pull the purse off the mother's shoulder, but she sat down on the ground as he tried to pull at it several times. The suspect then grabbed the other woman's purse, got back in the Jeep and took off.

Police later arrested Cortez Williams, 25, and charged him with Robbery and Attempted Robbery. He was booked at the Shelby County Jail on a $35,000 bond.
