MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A man was critically injured outside a convenience store by Memphis police after he pointed a gun at officers.
Police were called to the Quick & Easy on the 900-block of S Highland St just before 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23 in response to a 911 call that three armed men talking about robbing someone.
When officers arrived, they saw one person leaning into a vehicle. As an officer approached, the suspect pulled a gun from the vehicle and pointed it at police. The officer fired at the suspect, wounding him. He was transported to The MED in critical condition.
The officer has been routinely relieved of duty with pay pending the outcome of the investigation. His name has not been released.
The suspect, later identified as 18-year-old Bo Moore, has been charged with Aggravated Assault. Investigators also tied him to an armed robbery of the Triple J Grocery on the 1100-block of Walker Ave on December 7, 2012, and charged Moore with Aggravated Robbery.
