Suspects Wanted for Fatal Convenience Store Shooting

MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Memphis police are searching for the suspect that shot and killed a man during a robbery in a convenience store parking lot Saturday night.

Officers were called to the Z Market at S. Perkins and Cottonwood in the Parkway Village area just after 10 p.m. on Saturday, January 19. When they arrived they found a man had been shot. The victim, later identified as 28-year-old Rene Trejo, was transported to The MED were he was pronounced dead.

Investigators say Trejo was sitting in his car with two other people in the store's parking lot when three black male suspects approached them and demanded money. One suspect fired at them, hitting Trejo.
