this boy is no adult, but he certainly will be the next time he sees daylight.

Cindy, normally I may also say it's a parenting thing, however some kids are just BAD, don't listen and have every chance in the world to do right and don't take them! No matter what they make wrong decisions and dont' think. I know this for a fact because this child is my step-son. His mother is a decent hard working woman and my husband is a wonderful parent and man, they both did the best they could. Our hearts bleed for the family of the deceased and hope justice is served quickly and swiftly, but do not pass judgement on parenting with out knowing the situation. this boy had help, discipline, and opportunity and this was still the choice he made as an adult and it is devastating this poor man died as a result.

Such a cold bloodied killing!! To kill the father, because he wanted a gun back that he had given to the son; how very dastardly!! This teen needs severe punishment and many will suffer due to this cowardly act. What will it take for responsible adults to accept their responsibility and allow parents to use corporal punishment as one of the means used to teach our children? I was spanked, not a lot; it was the ultimate punishment for serious misbehaving. We need to be able to spank (whip)when it is needed without the threat of child abuse, even if the skin welts or there is a slight skin tear. No one need "beat" a child and broken skin does not necessarily indicate a beating. I welt when I accidentally bump into something; sometimes my skin breaks. When will common sense prevail so that parents can do what needs to be done before their kids become murderers?
