MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A Memphis teen was sentenced to two years in prison after she pleaded guilty to accidentally shooting and killing her friend in August 2011.
18-year-old Renee Addison pleaded guilty as charged for Reckless Homicide in the death of 17-year-old Sara Galbraith. According to Addison's statement to police following her arrest, she was trying to empty the gun when it accidentally fired.
Addison will be eligible for parole after serving 30 percent, or about seven months, of her sentence. She will be credited for six months of time served.
