MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Tennessee Task Force 1 has been activated to assist in emergency services along the eastern seaboard as Superstorm Sandy makes landfall.
TN-TF-1 is one of eight Task Forces responding to those affected Sandy among the 28 teams nationwide.
Members will leave for Fairfax, Virginia at 9 p.m. on Monday, October 29. Once deployed, TN-TF-1 will help in search and rescue efforts. Task force members typically serve in 7-10 day rotations.
