MEMPHIS, TN (localmemphis.com) - To many Memphians, the history and museums of our city blend into the sidewalk as you're parking the car or going to work downtown. This weekend aims to change that.

The third Downtown Museum Day is happening all day Saturday. More than 15 cultural gemstones are cutting prices or giving special offers.

The goal is to give you an opportunity to see everything from the Cotton and Fire Museums to Sun Studio and Elmwood Cemetery.

Anna Mullins with the Cotton Museum put it together three years ago.

She says it's about connecting Memphis stories.

“They're coming from East Memphis, from Germantown, from Desoto County. They can come into downtown and not just come to one museum for an hour or two but visit a number and be a tourist for the day,” Anna Mullins of the Cotton Museum said.

Each place is offering something a little different.
