MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) – More than 16,000 people from across the country were up bright and early to run in the tenth annual St. Jude Marathon.
This year's race raised money for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Runners had three different distances to choose from; ranging from three miles up to the marathon distance 26.2 miles.
First-time half-marathoner Nisha Singh joined the fun to keep in shape while keeping in mind who the race was really for.
“It’s for the kids who are there and for all the work they do," Singh said. "I keep hearing the great work that they do and about all the volunteering they do. It's awesome.”
The St. Jude Marathon has brought in more than 16 million dollars since it began ten years ago.
