Tornado Damage Reported in Fayette County

There were reports of downed power lines, damaged homes, and people trapped after severe storms and a tornado ripped through parts of western Tennessee Saturday evening.

Abc24 News received reports of downed power lines, damaged homes, and people trapped after severe storms and an EF-1 tornado with winds of up to 105 mph ripped through parts of Fayette County, TN Saturday evening.

The National Weather Service says people were rescued after being trapped by downed power lines in Fayette County.

A church on Old 59 Highway suffered damaged after it was moved several yards away from its foundation.

Homes in a community close to Mason, TN were also damaged and one barn was completely destroyed.

Many trees were snapped or uprooted. One minor injury was sustained at a residence near the end of the tornado's path.
