MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Deputies arrested two suspects Wednesday, accused of burglarizing a home in a southeast Shelby County neighborhood.
Just after 5 a.m. on Wednesday, July 18, Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of two suspicious men walking around carrying bolt cutters in a neighborhood off of East Holmes Road and Crumpler Road. A deputy spotted the suspects, but they ran away when he approached them.
One suspect, 21-year-old Reginald Tatum, was found behind a home on the 6500-block of Valley Oak Drive with bolt cutters and several copper pipes nearby. Tatum admitted to breaking into a home around the corner on Timber Ridge Drive and was placed under arrest.
Investigators found the second suspect, 21-year-old Brandon Wallace, later that morning at a home just a few streets over from the burglary. A stolen window air conditioning unit and several copper pipes were found after a search of the home, and Wallace was placed under arrest.
Reginald Tatum was charged with Burglary Residential, Evading Arrest, and Possession of burglary tools and Theft of Property under $500.00.
Brandon Wallace was charged with Burglary Residential, Evading Arrest, Theft of Property under $500.00 and Vandalism under $500.00.
Both suspects are scheduled to appear in court July 19.
