Two Charged in String of Tax Office Burglaries

Two people were arrested for a burglary spree where more than $1,300 from seven Memphis tax preparation businesses was stolen.

MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Two people were arrested for a burglary spree where more than $1,300 from seven Memphis tax preparation businesses was stolen.

39-year-old Demeta Dimming and 37-year-old Tammy Hurst are accused of burglarizing seven locations of Jackson Hewitt Tax Service between April 14-15. According to police records, a total of $1,368 was taken, with entry gained at each business using a master key.

Dimming and Hurst, both former employees of Jackson Hewitt, were developed as suspects and taken into custody April 20. Both suspects confessed and were each charged with seven counts of Burglary.

Demeta Dimming and Tammy Hurst were both booked at the Shelby County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
