MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Two people were killed after their vehicle crashed into a tree early Christmas morning in south Memphis.

Officers were called to the scene of a single-vehicle accident on Pleasant Hill Road just south of Holmes road around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, December 25. Investigators say the 1997 GMC Yukon was traveling southbound on Pleasant Hill when it left the road into a ditch, struck a large tree and started to flip. Both people inside were ejected from the vehicle.

The driver, 41-year-old Lisa Ramsey of Memphis, and the passenger, 55-year-old Billy Walker of Olive Branch, were pronounced dead on the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
