Two Shelby Co. Vehicles Hit in Suspect Chase

Two Shelby County Sheriff's Office vehicles were hit during a suspect chase near the state line Wednesday afternoon.
MEMPHIS, TN (localmemphis.com) - Two Shelby County Sheriff's Office vehicles were hit during a suspect chase near the state line Wednesday afternoon.

Deputies were attempting to pull over Derrick Rogers, 42, near Hacks Cross and Parkmont Drive when he rammed an officer's vehicle and fled to Mississippi, then hit a second Shelby County vehicle when they tried to box him in.

Rogers was apprehended and taken into custody on Center Hill Road just north of Highway 302 in DeSoto County.

Derrick Rogers was wanted on several outstanding theft of property felony warrants in Bartlett, Collierville and Southaven. He is currently being held at the DeSoto County Jail with additional charges pending.

There were no injuries reported.
