Warrant Issued for Deadly Community Center Shooting

MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - An arrest warrant has been issued for the suspect in the deadly shooting of a Memphis teen at a community center last month.

17-year-old Darnavius Wayne is wanted for First Degree Murder for the death of 18-year-old Devail Lewis.

Memphis police responded to a shooting at the Westwood Community Center just before 4 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19. Lewis was located behind the community center with multiple gunshot wounds and pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics.

Darnavius Wayne remains at large. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call CrimeStoppers at (901) 528-CASH (2274). You can also submit your tip at 528cash.org, or text the word AWARD to 274637 (CRIMES). You will remain anonymous, and you could be eligible to receive a cash reward.
